Best 6b6t Video of September 2026: Can Mojang Stop 6b6t?

The day after Mojang got 6b6t's mod removed from GitHub, raincoates explained the takedown in an eight-minute video. It is the 6b6t team's pick for September 2026.

On 17 September 2026, Mojang got AnarchyMod taken off GitHub. 6b6t is a Minecraft anarchy server with no rules at all. Mojang blacklisted it in July, so the normal Java game will not connect to it. AnarchyMod is the free mod that turns that blacklist off. The day after the takedown, raincoates posted an eight-minute video about it. He explained what Mojang claimed, what GitHub answered, and why 6b6t was still online.

raincoates posted it on 18 September 2026. Its five chapters run from "Intro" to "Mojang is Being Sued".

His video, "Mojang's DMCA Against 6b6t Just Got Weird", is the best video about 6b6t in September 2026. Every month, the 6b6t team picks one video about the server that stood out to us. It is not judged on views. It only has to be about 6b6t, posted that month, and long enough to tell a story. August's pick followed a new player trying to walk out of spawn.

Who Is raincoates?

The YouTuber raincoates has played on 6b6t for about a year and a half. He has made videos about the server for almost as long: its history, its clans, its highways and its mysteries. He also helps run Cosmical, the clan behind the CosmoWorld noteblock festival.

He found 6b6t through a FastVincent video, while he was looking for alternatives to 2b2t. He started making videos for a simple reason.

"Originally I wanted videos about 6b6t that I could enjoy, but I found a lack of high quality ones, so I decided to try learning video editing and making my own."

What Happens in the Video?

The video opened on GitHub's "Repository unavailable due to DMCA takedown" page. Then he went back to where the story started: 2b2t.

2b2t gave in to Mojang. In December 2025, after a notice from Mojang, it rewrote its rules, and a chat filter followed. That ruined the oldest anarchy server in Minecraft. In the video, raincoates showed a post on the 2b2t subreddit saying 2b2t was no longer anarchy, because players could not even write curse words on signs anymore. The subreddit's moderators deleted it. 2b2t is dying, and its players are leaving.

6b6t refused to add a single rule, and Mojang blacklisted 6b6t on 15 July 2026. It came without any warning. 2b2t had at least been sent a notice first. Players kept joining anyway, with AnarchyMod. He explained how the mod works: the blacklist check runs inside your own game, and the mod skips it.

"Nothing to do with your account, it's just turning a switch from off to on."

The blacklist did not slow 6b6t down. On 14 August, a month after the ban, 6b6t had over 1,155 players online at once without a queue. For a few hours, that was more than 2b2t.

Then came the takedown. On 17 September, Mojang sent GitHub a DMCA notice, a copyright complaint under US law. GitHub disabled AnarchyMod's page and 14 copies of it. Mojang made two arguments. The first was that the mod gets around a block Mojang put in place. GitHub rejected that one. It said it "did not find sufficient information to determine a valid anti-circumvention claim". The second was that the mod depends on Minecraft, so it infringes Mojang's copyright.

He read the notice line by line on screen. Mojang wrote that it uses "Azure Active Directory sign in with license checks", as if the mod were a cracked launcher. It is not. AnarchyMod never touches your account or your licence, and it contains none of Mojang's code. Mojang still signed a false statement under penalty of perjury: that "the entire repository is infringing".

We asked him how he worked out what Mojang got wrong. It was his third video to mention AnarchyMod, so he already knew how the mod worked. In his answer to us, he also named Kian Bröse, who helped 6b6t fight the takedown.

"The announcement from Kian Brose definitely helped and I tried to include that in the video as well, but the most damning evidence was the sentence at the very top of the DMCA which says GitHub doesn’t believe this is a digital lock pick or something, and they denied one of Mojang’s claims."
"Tbh that was the weirdest part."

The server stayed online. Anyone with AnarchyMod could still join, and the mod was still on CurseForge. The hack clients Meteor, Rusher and Future had all added the same bypass. That same night, 6b6t sent GitHub a counter-notice, a formal request to put the mod back. The full story is in our post on Mojang's DMCA against AnarchyMod.

Mojang is also being sued. Kian Bröse, who helped 6b6t send its counter-notice and hosts a copy of AnarchyMod, is one of the people behind lawsuit.gg, a class action in Sweden over Mojang's forced move to Microsoft accounts.

raincoates's closing point turned the takedown around. If the blacklist had worked, Mojang would not have needed a takedown at all.

"The request being sent at all is an admission that Mojang has failed to stop 6b6t."

Why Did We Pick It?

He explained the takedown one day after it happened, with the real documents on screen. He did not guess. He showed Mojang's notice and GitHub's answer, highlighted each line as he read it, and kept it simple enough for a new player.

He started planning the video in his head as soon as he heard the news. He wrote the script when he got home and edited until about 3am.

"With a video like this I knew I had to get it done the day of the announcement, otherwise it’s old news."
raincoates

It worked. By 14 October 2026, the video had passed 500,000 views, on a channel with about 3,460 subscribers. The top comment under it came from the 6b6t channel: "I’m Still Standing". Many viewers pointed out the irony: Microsoft owns both Mojang and GitHub, yet GitHub turned down one of Mojang's claims.

"Well it’s my most viewed video now, long form or short, which is cool but it also had a lot of pressure on me to get everything right."

He tested two thumbnails. In the left one, GitHub answers Minecraft with "Nope". He published the right one, where 6b6t answers with "No." Thumbnails by raincoates.

One note: raincoates helps pick these videos, so he could not vote for his own. qbasty, the owner of 6b6t, made this choice.

What Else Has raincoates Made?

We asked him for his favourites. These are his picks.

The Mystery of The Valley of Peace is his favourite. It was only his fourth video. The official 6b6t channel had posted a short about a place called the Valley of Peace. The place seemed too small to get its own short, so he went to find out what was really going on there.

The Mystery of The Valley of Peace is his favourite of his own videos. It is almost 13 minutes long.

"It was also one of the first videos that got me any community attention, and tbh out of all my videos I think it holds up the most."
raincoates

I SURVIVED 6b6t's Most DANGEROUS Highway is his best highway video. He makes his highway videos together with his community, and a new one is on the way. It will be about 30 minutes long.

6b6t Is Already Destroying Hytale was his first long video to do well. A few days after it came out, his channel was monetised.

He still makes them for the people around him.

"Sometimes I doubt how much longer I’ll be doing this, but I’ve grown close to a lot of people on the server and at this point I make videos for them, and the views come secondary to my own enjoyment of the process."
