On Saturday 24 October 2026, The Highway Men ran their Halloween maze on 6b6t for the second year. At least 30 players tried to find 3 hidden keys and escape before the killer caught them. Then everyone went to a Halloween after party.

Who Are The Highway Men?

The Highway Men, or THM, are the group of 6b6t players that builds and repairs the Nether highways. Read their story here. Kyr0Zen, a 6b6t player and THM member, organises the Halloween maze.

How Does the Halloween Maze Work?

Somewhere in the maze are 3 hidden keys. You need all 3 to unlock the exit. While you look for them, a killer hunts you through the maze. You cannot break blocks and you cannot fly.

The maze is not open to everyone. To play, you post your in-game name in a thread in The Highway Men's Discord, and they add you to their whitelist, the list of players allowed in. Before the start, their bot teleports everyone on the list to the maze.

How Did the 2026 Maze Go?

This year, The Highway Men ran the maze on their own. Kyr0Zen counted at least 30 players, about the same as last year. They rebuilt last year's maze: the exit moved, and every decoration and obstacle was new.

The killer was Kyr0Zen, again. Unlike last year, there was no lag at all.

Kyr0Zen cannot say how many players escaped. On an anarchy server, nobody has to play by the maze's rules. He saw plenty of people at the exit when he finally got there, and he has a theory about how some of them made it:

Like last year, the maze got griefed, which means players wrecked the build. Both the maze and the party were hit fairly quickly, because some guests invited players who were not on the whitelist.

What Happened at the Halloween After Party?

After the maze, everyone was teleported to the Halloween after party at a different spot. The Highway Men put a lot of work into it this year. There was a slot machine, pumpkin carving and an ice boat race.

Inside a giant pumpkin, a player made music on note blocks, the Minecraft blocks that play a sound. There was also a map art wall, where players could hang their own map art next to The Highway Men's Halloween pieces.

Kyr0Zen's favourite part of the night came the moment everyone arrived:

My favourite parts of the event were the times we all gathered up together, especially when we all teleported to the Halloween party and everyone immediately gathered at the slot machine.

There was also an ice boat race around the party hall.

The party did not last long. Kyr0Zen tried to get everyone to see all of it before it was destroyed:

We put a lot of effort into the Halloween after party this year so I was pretty bummed out to see it get destroyed so fast, I tried my best to encourage people to see all parts of it before it got griefed.

How Did the First Maze Go in 2025?

The first Halloween maze was in October 2025. It was Kyr0Zen's first time leading an event this big, and he played the killer himself. About 30 to 40 players came, by his own rough count.

It started badly. The moment players began teleporting in, the lag got so bad that the server went offline. After that, there was moderate lag through the rest of the maze. Many players escaped anyway.

Near the end, a griefer got in and blew up the exit gate. Kyr0Zen was not surprised:

I expected it to end up getting griefed eventually.

Will There Be a Maze Next Year?

Kyr0Zen says yes.

For as long as I'm apart of THM, there will always be some kind of maze Halloween event- or something similar.

Can New Players Join the Maze?

Only through the whitelist. A player who joined 6b6t yesterday may have trouble getting on the list, so talk to Kyr0Zen in The Highway Men's Discord first. Their bot then teleports you to the maze before it starts, so you do not need to know where it is.
