On May 30, 2026, 6b6t updated from Minecraft 1.21.8 to 1.21.11.

The update brings the Mounts of Mayhem features to the server, together with major improvements to the custom technology behind 6b6t.

The permanent map was fully preserved. Nothing was reset, and everything built or destroyed by players remains part of the server.

What Was Added in 1.21.11?

Minecraft 1.21.11 added several new weapons, mobs and mounts.

The biggest addition is the spear. Spears can be used for normal combat, but they are especially powerful when attacking while moving quickly or riding a mount.

The update also added:

  • Nautilus and Zombie Nautilus mobs
  • Nautilus Armor
  • Naturally spawning Zombie Horses
  • Camel Husks
  • The Parched skeleton variant
  • Netherite Horse Armor

All of these additions are available on 6b6t.

The new mounts and weapons create more possibilities for exploration, collecting items and PvP. On an anarchy server, they can also be stolen, hidden, traded or used against other players.

Major Changes Behind the Scenes

Updating a normal Minecraft server is usually simple. Updating 6b6t is different because the server runs on heavily modified custom software.

More than four developers worked on the changes required to make the 1.21.11 update possible.

One of the most important improvements was removing an unnecessary proxy between players and the Minecraft server. This reduced the number of steps in the connection, saved server resources and fixed a problem where changing dimensions could send players to the backup server.

We also improved how restarts work. Different parts of the server can now restart individually. For example, if the Overworld has a problem, Nether and End players can remain connected instead of the entire network restarting at once.

For the more technical players, our coordination system was rewritten in Rust to improve performance and reduce memory usage. Communication between different parts of the network was also moved to gRPC, Protobuf and HTTP/2.

These changes are part of the long-term plan to allow 6b6t to support many more players without lag.

New Lobby

One day after the 1.21.11 update, we also released a new 6b6t lobby.

The lobby was created by players Volizray, beast_machine, Zuro_2, SAVAGE740, DRens69 and Professorbok.

Massive thanks to everyone who worked on it.

The lobby also includes a new command: /ski. Players can use skis around the lobby, with special models available for selected ranks.

We want to release new lobbies more frequently in the future instead of keeping the same lobby for long periods.

More Updates Are Coming

Players can still connect using Minecraft 1.21.8 and newer versions, but using 1.21.11 is recommended for the best experience.

Bedrock players can also continue joining normally.

Our next plans include updating 6b6t to newer Minecraft versions, releasing more performance improvements and continuing work on the technology required to support more than 1,000 players.

6b6t is actively developed. The server will continue moving forward while keeping the same permanent world. No rules. No resets. No bans.
