Anarchy servers allow for many things, one of them is flying endlessly and generating chunks. 6b6t has been running since 2022 and even with our custom storage saving algorithms, the server world is huge already. Should we do something about it? Reset? Cull chunks? Let's talk about that.

Chunk culling has only become popular in the recent years. Since Minecraft 1.9, the world size is only growing due to more features and as we all remember Minecraft 1.13 was a disaster with low performance and chunk saving being horrible.

Fortunately, the issue has improved on the Mojang's side and we have very talented developers working on optimizing the world, we have developed a brand new file format called the Linear format. This and other improvements are allowing us not to worry about the server size for the near future.

The world will never reset on 6b6t and we plan to never cull any chunks.
